***If you have a non-ATI video card you will need to find instructions for Steps 1 and 2 elsewhere, don’t worry the ubuntu community is huge, and as a wise man once said “Just Google it”.
1) Install Video Card Drivers
First of all Compiz-Fusion will not work with the official ATI drivers from ATI’s website, you will need to install the unofficial ATI drivers, installation steps HERE.
NOTE: If you already installed the official ATI drivers your pretty much screwed, best bet is to reformat
and start fresh.
2) Install Compiz-Fusion (OS X Window Animations)
To install Compiz-Fusion I followed the instructions HERE.
NOTE: These instructions are specific to Ubuntu 7.04 ATI users ONLY.
3) Install OS X System Theme
First download THIS OS X Theme, then go to the Emerald Theme Manager and Import the theme, just click Import and open the downloaded file –> Select the newly added them from the list of themes, and your done!
4) Install Avant Window Naviagator (OS X Application Dock)
To install the Avant Window Naivagator (OS X Application Dock) I just followed THIS Tutorial.
5) Install OS X style Login Screen
To change the login screen I downloaded an OS X style login screen from HERE and applied this login screen in ubuntu by going to:
System Configuration -> Login Screen Setup -> Import New Theme -> NameOfTheme.tar.gz -> Select Newly Added Theme Checkbox -> Close
6) Final Touches: Apply OS X style Top Menu Bar, Icons, Fonts and Wallpaper
See THIS website for instructions.
Feel free to post any questions in the comments section below… Good Luck!
